“It began like any night would. Corpsecules with nelly blared as I chomped at burning ash dangling above my open gullet. 8:38
"Down the hatch"
"Up the hatch"
"Over the hatch"
Each little man on his own individual regatta neatly lined around the television. Red and blue melted across the shimmering screen. Braves and patriots. Football was never my game but could those boys play. Masses of criss-crossed varicose blending on the brush of the field, real American art.”
I wrote that the day after the night we made the band; we were already playing as Squat but that night swirled and whispered to us and tugged us down the line. We weren’t quite sure where we were or who we were for a long time but in the last years I’ve learned something: He’s Matt he’s Tom and he’s Peter and we are in the band.
