over the curving highway
below the guiding lights
driving for the ocean
awake for three long nights
gliding through the sleeping town
where no one seems to see
a silent spirit whispers
"it's just you and me"

now my feet are humming
so strangely on the ground
while the rolling of the river
is still the only sound
by the rocks and reeds it seems
that now a journeys done
but the sun will soon be rising
I know it's just begun

windows are glowing embers
then fire ignites the sky
venus and the moon
together riding high
there's movement in the distance
a half remembered dream
people filling up the streets
I step into the stream
