These tunes were done in 1983-1984 in my apartment on Ogden Drive in the Fairfax district of Los Angeles, I play all the synth and guitar parts and programmed the drum machines (and a few some sequenced parts), and (uh oh) “rapped” and sang. It was all recorded on 1/2-inch 8-track tape.

The stuff was mixed down to cassette (maybe DAT?) and then kept in a drawer. I had it digitized a number of years ago and recently tried to clean it up a bit—which is what you hear now.


I played this stuff for a few friends back then—I was just starting a rock band, was gigging in top-40 and dance bands and was also playing "avant garde" jazz, so there wasn't a lot of time to do much else with it.

i think you can also hear strains of the sort of stuff i had been listening to for a while.
