U.S. artists Adam Jay and Rebecca Ciaglia team up for a
two track EP titled Velvet Hammer, ringing in our 70th release with big, bold techno rhythms.
With several releases and remixes on SubSensory to date, Adam Jay has
become one of our key contributors. Beyond his prolific solo output on legendary labels like Primate, Primevil, Zync and his own Chroma label, working with Rebecca Ciaglia he’s recently released on The Advent’s Kombination Research label, the well-known Starkstrom label and more.
This latest effort by the duo brings a sharp techno focus, with a sound that’s both powerful and moving. The title track, Velvet Hammer, is a sly combination of heavy drums and spaced out melody -- creating a truly unique result. Aberration represents a harder, edgier groove, built with bass-heavy rhythms, heady fx and rugged drums.
