SUEÑ002 by Arutani
The label’s sophomore off-shoot spotlights Venezuela’s Arutani – an aural alchemist pushing two down-tempo dialogues that embody SUEÑ002. Through this package, the Switzerland-based artist projects a somber approach to his ever-longing upbringings in South America; providing both belligerence and spell-casting through piercing percussion and shimmering pad-work.
Maybe it’s Catatumbo’s thunder-like thumps or the mesmerising organic textures in Niam that suggest reverence and admiration to Venezuela’s rich eccentricity in nature. SUEÑ002 somehow encompasses the label into a space built of cultural introspection, courtesy of a concealed but evolvingly brilliant sound curator.
