Past Solutions by Clear Scape

Past Solutions is the CD debut by Belgorod-based sound artist Dmitry Shkarupin. Most of the tracks here — except «Past Solutions» — were written and shared online between 2016 and 2022. Brought together now, they take on new shape and meaning. The sequence wasn’t arranged by the artist himself, but by an external hand, following a quiet inner logic. This revealed a subtle thread: minimalist harmonies, delicate textures, and restrained rhythms that evoke meditative states without any religious overtones. The result is a gently melancholic atmosphere — immersive and intimate, something like an everyday trance.

From the label founder:
My first encounter with Dmitry’s music felt like a moment of revelation. First, I found a kindred spirit right here on the local scene and felt a deep sense of respect and joy for the artist’s work. But I was also surprised that this music hadn’t seen a single release, even though the tracks had been online for a while. All of this inspired me to share the sound with the world and ultimately to start Sumbur.

Sumbur is a Stavropol-based ambient label, ranging from delicate «warm» sounds to post-digital aesthetics.
