'The quality of the Sunburned Hand Of The Man's discography might vary quite a bit, but when their standards are high, the results are usually amazing! This is one of those cases. Imagine yourselves Throbbing Gristle collaborating with The Doors. Things couldn't possibly get groovier then on Adult Costume, that fuzz bass is a killer! It'll have you bobbing your head and tapping your feet involuntarily. Even on the opening The Fuck Face, you get a pretty fucking decent stoner tune with slow riff and all. The fuzz bass makes a welcome comeback on The Main Vein. Much noisier this time around, but no less interesting. With Jaybird and The Secret In Disguise, Complexion completes my holy trinity of SHOTM records. I let go of my vinyl edition once Very Friendly released this on CD.'

Sunburned played an outdoor concert in a community garden in Somerville, Massachusetts in the summer of 2004. The show was recorded straight to mini-disc using a stereo mic. Sunburned Mike then edited it and here it is. The artist John Jagel lived in Somerville at the time and we got to go to his studio and choose the pieces for the artwork. This is a great record and a favorite of the band's. It was released first on vinyl in the USA and then cd in the UK. Currently out-of-print.
