Wagtail by Taylor Crawford
Wagtail features glockenspiel as a key instrument. Also frello, bass, percussion , drums and other bits and bobs.
Most of these tunes are long melodies, that I copied phrase by phrase on the glockenspiel. It was a bit tricky but good fun.
Wagtails are one of my favourite birds. Nimble, acrobatic, brave, cheeky, and fun to watch.
Some of these tunes are playful and reminded me of them.
Playing glockenspiel helped inspire me to make a marimba, which can be heard on the album Bowerbird.
Recorded over the last few years and mixed to cassette in 2021.
