Float from Dust Anyway by Ten Spiders

I am the man who makes
every boat that leaves this town
I build them to hold cargo
to float on down
the long flowing river
to the cities by the sea
every piece of wood's
been shaped by me

Another maiden voyage is at hand
And when it leaves
it won't come back again

My brother guides the craft
with the help of two or three
A 13 days journey to the sea
And every 2-bit castle
with its men wave you ashore
with every quay it costs a little more

Unloading all the goods
at the docks of grand Bordeaux
Pockets filled with golden coins
and so
There remains a single task
in the evening smog,
the turning of my boat into logs.

Another maiden voyage ends
as planned
with nothing left to do
but walk home again

It lightens my heart
to see my only brother return
a quiet celebration
another fire burns
Content to build each craft though
Though it’s destruction must come
anything of worth is surely a labor of love
