I’d trade in all the gold in the world for the perfect tree,
Sit under its branches in the shade.
Time was running laps around the sea,
Look at how even memories fade.
I listened to the water rippling down to the lake,
The mountainside is calling out your name.
I’m losing this game against the wind,
It’s throwing me back down again.

Life is taking the mick out of me.
I’m fine with it, I laugh it off,
Don’t take it all so seriously.
Why walk in circles? Colliding at the breach,
All my dreams were born on the water’s surface.

Lessons taught and learned, all the way home.
Tried to think about the beauty that goes unseen.
Chasing pigeons in the park,
Listening to that old lab’s bark,
I’m dreaming with my eyes open, it seems.

Find out the secrets of the universe,
They all call out to you,
The sound is louder in the blue.
Follow it into the green.
