Bethlehem Christmas by The Bethlehem Village Band
BETHLEHEM CHRISTMAS unites old Yuletide traditions with Christian celebrations, filling the listener with joy, peace and goodwill.
The Bethlehem Village Band brings together an eclectic mix of musicians with origins as far afield as Canada and Estonia.
Jason Lawday from Bethlehem (flute, bagpipes)
Sille Ilves from Estonia (fiddle, hurdy-gurdy, archaic bowed lyre and vocals)
Martin Leamon from Gower (guitar, 1-row melodeon and bouzouki)
Ceri Owen- Jones from Canada (celtic harp, trombone, vocals)
Chris Reynolds from Swansea (vocals).
They have been playing together for a number of years for local events and Twmpath dances and the album developed after the band was booked to play for the celebrated Bethlehem Christmas Fair last year.
Extra inspiration was gained from the fact that many carols used to be danced to as well as sung.
