You gotta let them
Be whatever it is they choose
Cuz gender is a funny thing
Drowning in taboo
To realise
Your lack of self
Is caught up in the difference

And your mental health

It must be hard
Enough to understand
Let alone fit in
When brain and body don't match up

These notions we take for granted
How to act and what to wear
Yeah there are no answers
Let them question
Let them stare

Those of us that have made the change
Those that are confused
Just remember you are beautiful

When our tolerance
Should not condone our ignorance
To belittle those
Due to their clothes
And the flesh between their heads and toes
Our worth is in our virtues
Kindness, love and truth
