Transgressors by The Intelligence Service
THE INTELLIGENCE SERVICE emerged last spring from their secret garage bunker hidden deep in the misty mountains of Vancouver, Canada, to undertake the dangerous pilgrimage to the secret lair of Garage-Punk Wizard CHRIS WOODHOUSE (Thee Oh Sees, Ty Segall, Sic Alps, Fuzz). Over the next four days, the band chanelled psychedelic-garage-punk spirits while the Wizard employed his alchemical skills to forge their debut LP, Transgressors, out of magnetized iron, gristle and sweat.
Transgressors schizophrenically weaves a magic cloak from the scraps of Shoegaze, sweaty Garage Rock, and New Wave with a rusty Punk needle and colourful Psychedelic thread. Cro-Magnon Fuzz guitars roar along- side analog synths, 60s organ melodies, and psychedelic reverb-laden vocals. Savage bass lines and thumping primal drums demand bodily sacrifice. Transgressors is made to be played loudly – it’s rawness will melt speakers, shake rafters, and devour and assimilate any who stand in its path.
