Having bought a Vermona Perfourmer MKII in 2017 after a few years of wanting one, I set out to make one or two pieces of music just by sampling the synth. The first track I made this way was a track called Voices that I put on my ambient album Hikikomori, released in 2020. As time went on and I was recording and designing more sounds with it, the challenge switched to whether I could make a whole album's worth of music sampling only the Perfourmer. Every sound on this album I made by recording this synth, straight into Ableton Live and some parts on to cassette, and then sampling myself, layering and programming things like I would normally do when producing music until things began to take shape (or fourm, if you like)

And here we are all these years later, feeling proud to have finally been able to finish the idea! This whole project took way longer than I thought it might, and I feel there was more I could have done, but I'm happy with the music that's been made (aside from some absolute crimes to music/humanity that not even your worst enemy should hear) and feels like the time was well spent. It is safe to say that this is something I will continue to dabble in for the rest of my music making days, and this synth will stay with me for a long time.
