Ornate EP by Häana
The 6-track ORNATE EP includes Nordic-infused singles released over the years as a saga of my artistic journey. Ornate, the lead single (and is an auspiciously unplanned 4:44 in length), is the next iteration of my sound, moving in a direction of an epic cinematic immersion and embracing MUSIC as ART.
During the pandemic, I got involved on the mix engineering stage of my productions (thx to my mix coach Mehdi!), and Ornate marks the start of a new phase of my artistic evolution. Ornate is all about feeling dark yet elaborately or excessively decorated. Ethereal breathy icy vocals are contrasted with dark textured sound design, an enveloping in this rich gilded decorated environment. The ebbs and swells of the strings and piano interplay on the choruses really bring this piece to a beautiful culmination of emotive strength and dynamic movement.
While celebrating this release, I am reinventing and re-finding myself in the expansiveness of the desert.
