CHIACHUN XU

Chia-Chun Xu (b. 1997) is a Taiwanese sound artist and label director whose performances are marked by immersive layers of feedback, psychedelic tonal swells, and a tactile command of texture. Using no-input mixing boards, cassette loops, and MiniDisc players, he creates living sound systems where feedback, distortion, and silence interact in unpredictable ways. His sets are often described as visceral yet meditative—balancing raw intensity with hallucinatory depth.

Jaw Surgery—the harsh-noise alter ego of Chester Masangya from the Philippines—is a formidable force in global experimental sound. His live and recorded performances conjure dense, violent landscapes of distortion and feedback, interwoven with unsettling vocal tones and textural field recordings.
