Elevate EP by Tjaka
The title single, and the EP as a whole, are about a journey and continuing to better yourself and striving for continual improvement everyday. For us it’s music but we hope anyone can hear these songs and feel motivated to keep pushing on their own journey.
We had a lot of fun making 'Elevate' with Jake leading the charge on production. For us, we wanted to try and release it as a snapshot of our journey as a band so far and all the different styles we try to cover when sharing our music with the world. It was definitely a learning experience for all of us with it being our first piece of self led recording. We gotta shoutout Magoo for all his work on mixing that helped give the songs that final push to completion and also to Tom Thum for helping us bounce ideas around and try new things in the process.

Tjaka is a trailblazing music trio from Meanjin/Brisbane, consisting of two Fabila brothers, Geoff and Jake, and their close friend Felix Fogarty. The name is derived from Tjakamarra, the skin name given to the brothers, proud descendants of the Jabirr Jabirr tribe in the WA Kimberley.
Their music style is a fusion of electronic and hip-hop sounds blended with Aboriginal ancestral influences.
