Parce Domine from Pax Aeterna by Tom Donald, The Benedictine Monks of Pluscarden Abbey
Parce Domine – Spare us O Lord. This heart-rending plea is sung particularly during lent. The form is that of a litany supplication, with a refrain. The words of the verses are ascribed to Pope St. Gregory the Great (540-604). At least they date from his time.
