Recorded in two dates around North Texas, this live album collects tunes from the bluegrass catalog interpreted by the quintet. Each Tone Chaser shines in soloing and groove with each song, making full string band-level noise.
THE ALBUM:
Live in Denton and Glen Rose, this album was recorded to capture the best of the band in the natural live performance state. The tunes include covers from many bluegrass eras, like the original standards of Bill Monroe classics, to the newgrass of Skaggs and Rice and the contemporary Billy Strings numbers. Recorded in six-track high-quality audio presented here on Bandcamp in 24-bit resolution.
THE SONGS:
Led and sung by Ben and Travis, the tunes range from fiddle tune instrumentals, to vocal harmony showcases to ripping jams with the whole group. Three original tunes are included, the opener "DANCIN' STARS" and "THE STRAITS ARE NARROW" written by Ben, and "WHISPERIN' RIDE" written by Travis. Also includes covers of Merle Travis, Bill Monroe, Red Allen, and Flatt & Scruggs.

The Tone Chasers are a young bluegrass group from North Texas, formed in 2024. Consisting of Ben Childress (guitar/vocals), Danny Gussman (banjo/guitar), Travis Flippo (mandolin/vocals), Cole Rouse (bass), and sometimes Luke Sampeck (banjo), these pickers bring their bluegrass experience with them to the group.
