W'allah Heet from Rhythm Mission by Tony Vacca

This literally translates as meaning "word of God." It's a phase I heard sung many times by the great Senegalese griot/vocalist, Mansour Seck. Mansour was the primary back-up singer for Baaba Maal, himself one of Africa's all time great singers. The phrase usually meant "we are in it now, man!" That's what we were going for here.

Tony Vacca has become a true “rhythm nomad,” incorporating a world of percussion music and instruments to create something… all his own.

Over the course of his career he has made a habit of pushing the already adventurous conventions of World Music into new territory, both as a soloist and as the leader of his World Rhythms Ensemble.
