Stockholms musik by Twisted Krister
I was stuck in Stockholm. My partner was working at the Future Research Institute, while I was more or less studying the present. Long late autumn days would pass by, each one slightly darker. Every day I would take a tube line, jump off on a random station and have a look around.
Luckily I had companion in the form of the battered Yamaha QY-70. Walkstation was what it was called in the press blurbs of the company, and sure enough it fit snugly in the pocket of my seasoned parka during my wanderings. Battery power made it a perfect music machine to be whisked out when the musical spark evoked by the surroundings hit my neurons.
Stockholm was cold, albeit not snowy yet. The Baltic enters deep into the city, surrounding it and radiating freezing mist. City lights sparkled in the fragmented mirror of the sea, trains and SUV's were dashing around.
I would explore the boroughs, like an off-world researcher dropped from a space vessel. Observing. Interacting. Taking notes. Pushing buttons.

Credits
Stockholm's musik chronicles the moods and atmospheres around the city. Tracks were started and to some extent also finished on location with an Yamaha QY-70 portable XG synth and sequencer. Additional instruments and software: Korg Z1, Roland SH-32 and Ableton Live.
Composed, recorded and produced by Twisted Krister at Pacific-Atlantic Mobile Studios, Södermalm, Stockholm September-October 2010 and Kallio, Helsinki October-November 2012.
Originally released as two ep's in 2010 and 2012. Partially remixed and remastered in 2021 at Pacific Seafront in June 2021.
