Unrefined by Cania
Unrefined is an album about making pleasing noises and textures, then putting kick drums under them. I consider this to be my first real "album," specifically because I wrote these songs with the intention of releasing them in one coherent package. It's a bit noisy, definitely crunchy, kinda dancey, very electronic, and it's happening in the middle of a digital storm.
I made these tracks in Bespoke. These recordings are performed "live" in one take. I use an Akai Midimix to control each instrument and its various settings all at once, then do some minor editing in Audacity. I wanted these recordings to feel human, despite being entirely digital, so I left in my mistakes, missteps, and any other happy accidents that occurred.
