Panthalassa II by Milieu
'Panthalassa II' continues the directed exploration of the ARP 2600 "Blue Marvin" analog synthesizer. Originating as an arpeggiator exploration on 20th November 2023, this piece bloomed into a wide-lens expanse of primordial blue seawater with the help of several different granular resampling patches/processors.
I often think about the sea when I am working, perhaps some distant and permanent part of my inner self having grown up in the subtropics, and 'Panthalassa II' is just this - a prosaic recall of the waves and water that are still out there, hundreds of miles away from my cozy midwestern valley.
