Panthalassa III by Milieu

It should have been a given that after I've relocated my studio to within only a few miles of the 11th largest lake in the world, that I would return to the most lake-like of all the Vibra sessions. The third iteration of Panthalassa is a brand new recording, rather than something from the archives, with Behringer's remake of the "Blue Marvin" ARP 2600 playing gentle chordal shapes through its three oscillators (formed by overlaying two sequencers in C sharp, one playing the Mixolydian scale and the other playing the Major Pentatonic), augmented by some occasional lead work via two instances of Clouds, which completes the picture: the lake that feels more like an ocean, grey Winter skies overhead, snow covering the landscape surrounding the edges of the water, with the sunlight held captive beneath a blanket of overcast atmosphere.

Could there be more to say? Always - but my short time here in Cleveland has already conveyed a wonderful immense stillness in me, and I can already feel it showing through in my music. There's space left in between things that seems like it might not have been there before. It could simply be that my body is still sore from the months of arduous moving, or it could be the cold weather getting me to expend as little bodily warmth as possible when I work in the studio. It could be neither of these things, I don't know. I do know that I feel comfortable in these recordings thus far, and I hope you feel that way too.
