The Zipps arose out of nonchalance and have melted away in an unassuming manner. Reaching a brief, bright zenith with two albums produced over a couple of summers in Gangneung, South Korea. By any measure they made a worthy contribution to the musical canon of our time.
The records range in their offerings from the quirky and countryesque Rampety Klampety and Chihuahua Rodeo to the homage to eighties heavy rock in Desert Walk and Winning Smile. The Zipps had a go at it all.
The support of friends too many to mention was central in the achievement of this selection of recordings. The tracks in unZipped and Zipped up! reflect the happiness of many afternoons spent pasting the forested hills above the amphitheatre behind Gangneung University Campus with a colourful array of amplified sounds.
Happiness is in the moment. We can't capture it and keep it for by its very nature it is free, but we can certainly belt the living daylights out of life and duplicate those moments everyday and on into forever.
