We had a release show at the Vaudeville Mews in Des Moines, IA for this tape. The show brought together artists from visual, video, and performance backgrounds to transform the venue into a full-on multimedia installation experience, with the bands on the tape providing the sounds for the evening. There was a massive, light-up jellyfish hanging from the ceiling whose entrails were unraveled and slowly wrapped around the venue and the members of the audience. Tables were set up with merch, local art offerings, and zines on a variety of different topics.
The whole show felt like an appropriate representation of the spectrum of sounds on this cassette, which spans numerous musical styles between its two sides. The A-Side highlights years of unreleased sonic experiments and psych-tinged pop trips from the always transforming Goatfoam project, and moves into five tracks of reverb-laden bedroom pop from Des Moines’ Jasper on Side B.
