Tara LeAnn: I loved hearing this “jhaptal” rhythm, in five, on the tabla whenever Carlos played it. The words and melody came through when I was jamming with Carlos on tabla and Kim Riccelli on Hang in November, 2008. It never sounded quite right, though, until one day, when I picked up a drum brush and started banging the rhythm on our two minor-tuned waveharp...and suddenly, we had a whole song. You never know when something is going to fit...in fact, not knowing seems to be the most creative beginning point we have found!
