Disciple by Web Rumors
Walyalup (Fremantle) based new wave/electronic act Web Rumors (Em Burrows) returns with Disciple, a 5 track DIY EP inspired by the sounds of late 70s and early 80s underground clubs.
Disciple sees Web Rumors’ synthpop sound taking a natural detour into more of an early house/electro space. Recorded, produced, and mixed by Burrows, it follows on from recent singles ‘Northern Service’ and ‘Heaven’, employing a consciously restrained sonic palette of digital piano, Oberheim style drums, expansive choral synth pads and electronic percussion. Featuring the occasional nod to breakbeat as well as a couple of big sax solos and Burrows’ trademark vocal hooks, you can likely expect to encounter cuts from Disciple in DJ sets on Boorloo dancefloors over the coming months.
