Nazca by LSZ
N.B. Relocating to Cleveland, studio packed up in boxes. Raiding the archives to have some new things up for this almost Bandcamp of Fridays.
"Nazca" originated as another modular session that I cannot recall or describe - not because it was not memorable, but because (uncharacteristically) I did not take notes. I remember it involving several different passes through some sound-altering mobile software I use to tinker with my sessions while I lie in bed on the precipice of sleep. This software includes basic tools like equalization, reverb, delay, amplification, compression and flanging, but also some slightly more experimental ones such as independent pitch and time controls. Through these paths it is possible to mine/sift my own sessions for weirder or more textural things, and it doesn't always lead to anything particularly good, but sometimes it finds things. "Kem" was one such recording that I felt turned out really well from this process, and so here finally is one more. "Nazca" is a unique atmosphere of a thick droning chord that slightly weaves around in the stereo field, augmented by some kind of shuddering texture that I absolutely love listening to. I hope you'll let it tickle your eardrums too.
