“First Light” - the debut album from Whitby’s inimitable gothic rockers :: WESTENRA :: - has now emerged from the shadows. It includes new versions of the debut singles “First Light” and “The Last Beat of Our Hearts” along with eight brand new tracks. Downloads include an extra gift of album artwork wallpapers.
All songs on the album were written, recorded and produced by the band throughout the tumultuous year that was 2020. Despite the unprecedented times, they have managed to create gothic rock anthems that are intimate yet universal/fragile yet powerful. Tales of heartbreak, self-doubt, loss and the search for redemption sit side by side with those of connection, ancient magick, reclaiming identity, and the power of unity.
