Young Mother by Wild Woods, Holy
“Young Mother” is my first EP made of the very first songs I ever wrote after I picked up the guitar and started singing for the first time at the age of 32. I was myself a young mother living quite an isolated life in the French countryside and I made the decision to start showing up regularly to my creative practice. I had no idea what I was doing but I decided to trust the process and let it guide me.
One day I discovered a chapel not too far from my house and started rehearsing there. I realized there was something powerful happening with my songs in that space and I decided to record raw, one-take versions. Each song asked something different of me: learning a technical skill, managing stress, dealing with difficult emotions. Each song revealed something deeper about myself. I realized I was climbing a personal mountain made not only of emotional hardship but also of surrender, self-love and self-compassion. And when I came down that mountain, I realized I had been completely transformed.
“Young Mother” is a musical trace of a threshold crossed. I’m beyond grateful to be sharing it with you.

Wild Woods, Holy is the project of Karolina Blaszyk, a self-taught singer-songwriter and artist born in Poland and based in France, at the foot of the Vercors mountains. Inspired by the silence and innocence of the pastoral surroundings, Wild Woods Holy picked up the guitar for the first time after becoming a mother at the age of 32.
