HeartBurN: aSmokefuelStiixTape by WoodburN

When I began this project I had no idea where this road would take me. On this newfound journey of independent production, I learned humility and to embrace individual styles. There is a place for every art, every bling dreamer, rim spinner, conscious thinker, stoner, or booty shaker; there is a place for everything. Amazing the quality emcees, producers, photographers, promoters, I have somehow managed to surround myself with provides me the fuel to break through the smoke and mirrors. We have lost track of purpose. We have a responsibility as Hip Hop Torch Carriers to create a type of transparency into our lives. Be it silly baby banter drama, or a cry for help, keep it real, keep it honest. I stand by this to the grave. I stand for the artist who needs a place to record, but life at other studios are too busy to put them at the front of the line. I stand for the person who wants to be better than anyone he has ever heard. For the person who has everything to prove because he hasn’t had missed opportunities, just chips he was afraid to place. The HeartBurN, what we go through to get our therapy to your ears is nothing shy of agony. That much closer to great today is what I seek. It is what I try to bring out in others with every bar, every writing class, every studio session. The fire is inside all of us to achieve everything we never thought possible is the main objective. After a fire there is a regrowth, an obvious rebirth. Brighter, greener, it grows faster and is more sustainable within its ecosystem.
We are only as good as the people we surround ourselves with. Make them quality. Don’t let your friend list dictate your consciousness. Think for yourself, you are brilliant. Use the HeartburN to break through the smoke. Create clarity. I am not perfect by any means, but I am better than I was yesterday.

I guess this is the part where I thank everyone without leaving someone out. I don’t know how to do that. Having been alive for 35 years I have had countless people pick me up when I was down, gave me knowledge and shed like on a perspective I would not have otherwise seen. Thank you. To my children, Kaija, Daxter, and Rayna, I love you so much. This is the beginning of a legacy I have been trying so hard to leave for you. I am sorry for my faults, this music is for you. To my Mom, thank you for my breath. For forgiving me when I don’t call on Sundays and always being there the second I need you.
