Lijken by X-Bax
These dark drones were recorded in 2009 during the same session that produced the "Afdaling" single for the Dutch label Witte Dood. Witte Dood singles are 5" CD releases that have running times of 333, 666, 999, or 1332 seconds. The Lijken session produced one track of each length: "Teleurstelling" (333 seconds), "Verlies" (666 seconds), "Einde" (999 seconds), and "Afdaling" (1332 seconds). The cover is a montage of photos Phil took in Portugal in August of that year.

X-Bax began as the experimental vehicle of Phil Dole (Chord, Dots, etc.) as a meeting between Phil's noise impulses and his reaction to spending a very intense weekend with an early Earth album, X-Bax evolved into a range of drone-ambient-noise objectives that continues to evolve.
