Rigas Disco by Yaputhma Sound System
The "official" album by Yaputhma Sound System, Latvian trance-space-rave-rock-post-everything band from the 1990s. Originally issued by Annemarie Records, on cassette only, in Latvia in 1996.
On the contrary to the lo-fi "Space Trip 2 Yaputhma" (self-released by the band in small quantities), "Rīgas Disco" was recorded in a normal studio, resulting in a sound much more polished and traditional, thus quite remote from a wide-eyed psychedelic, raw freak-out of Yaputhma live - which can be tasted on the above-mentioned "Space Trip" or "Colocolada", a collection of curiosities, wicked jams and outtakes.
Here it comes remastered (once again in 2017) and with awesome excerpt from a massive live performance in Zero Zone club. The latter truly represents the real sound and energy of YaSoSy.
