Forgotten by YGGL
With his third album, YGGL gets rid of the coldwave darkness of his previous opus. The drum machine becomes softened to let us feel the melody again like the light at the end of the tunnel, a needed step after a difficult family bereavement. The 9 songs recorded in Christian Bolognaise's Macaroni Cheese studio are a reminder of what used to be the so-called alternative rock. The voice becomes brighter and the guitar fulls of chorus slows down, he tackles more optimistic themes in response to the nihilism of the last decades' mentors (Nirvana, Smashing Pumkins, Jessica Lea Mayfield...) After 2 years of absence, the finalist of the Vans Musician Wanted brings out a new kind of record that had to exist in today's world : « The utopian grunge » !
