Let's drink to the nights when we'll be monsters again.
Downtown is a love letter to our past and a rally for the future when we can reclaim the nightlife from the pandemic. The experiences and memories of concerts, festivals, parties and bars fuel the anthemic chorus and breakneck levels of indie punk energy. We've released a couple songs about the pain and isolation of lock down but we also wanted to write a song about what we're looking forward to and maybe took for granted before. Downtown is loosely based around a night pre-pandemic I spent drifting around Mass Street in Lawrence, Kansas with friends sneaking shots in the lines of clubs, dancing and meeting people. We can't let ourselves forget the memories of finding people you gel with and having unforgettable experiences. Grab a glass and take a listen.
This is probably one of our favorite songs we've written so far. We hope you enjoy the third single from the new album “Not Dead Yet”.

This band should not exist. Shortly after their debut album "Chariot" released in September 2019; Kansas City punk/emo grunge band You Monster You's potential was derailed by the lockdown, brutal hand injuries and lineup changes. However YMY decided to double down on themselves. Writing and recording a new record dubbed, "Not Dead Yet" to be released as the world reopens in 2021 and 2022.
