1991 by Yunam

1991 is an EP that explores childhood, lost innocence, and memory. Each piece is rooted in blurry recollections, impressions, and personal archives such as old photographs. 1991 offers a gentle look at the troubled past that has led me to where I am today.
This is expressed mainly through lighter melodies than usual, more narrative and nostalgic structures reminiscent of 90s and early-2000s electronic music.
The tracks take on the form of an amalgam of layered memories and disjointed flashbacks.

Yunam is a Montreal based electronic music producer with a background in experimental, band and improvised music.

He composes musical soudscapes that combine the intensity of techno with emotional chord progressions, resulting in a sonic environment that evokes melancholy and science fiction. This can sometimes give the the listener the impression of being alone in space…
