another mornin comes
she sleeps straight through
to the other side of daylight
before she comes to

it isn't that she's tired
it’s not that she's sad
she just gave up the fight

there's five empty coffee cups
alongside her bed
maybe it's all that caffeine
what's messin with her head

it’s coffee for the day
and liquor for the dark
