Grey Poupon from Paragon Ep by Zephyria
This song came about because I was tired of writing super hard riffs and leads in Tux Guitar and having to learn them back. So instead I wrote a fairly easy repetitive song with once bitch of a nonsense clean part in towards the end. I wanted a spacey chordal vibe that really gave the bass room to breathe but hadn't really (and still haven't really as of writing this if I'm being honest) figured out how to go about writing clean guitar parts. Dalton Hill killed it on the bass on this track, gave it tons of feel and really added to the mix. Once it was written however we realized it would need singing over the chorus, it was too melodic not to! After much debate it was decided I would sing leads with Dalton Hagen doing some harmonies and all of the screaming. Dalton Hagen had come up with some catchy chorus lyrics and we co-wrote the rest of the song. I'm not much of a vocalist but we did what we could with what we had and I then decided to write a clean solo over the last clean section towards the end and call it a day! The song title really has no meaning, Grey Poupon is just fancy and I like mustard, although not really Grey Poupon so ponder that for a bit and find some deeper meaning. - Cody
