Hichiriki songs by Paulo Chagas
In May 2012 my friend Maresuke Okamoto (a great cello and bass player) generously brought me from Tokyo a hichiriki as a pledge.This is a traditional Japanese oboe, an instrument that I had never heard of, but I quickly began to try out some pieces and recorded at the time.These recordings had never left the drawer, waiting for me to add a few more. As time passed and I never did it again, I decided after six years to put them together in a small collection that is here for posterity, waiting for someone to enjoy it.
