The songs on this album all have something in common: they were made along the course of a journey. Every song started in an airport terminal, a train, or a bus on a Dilla-era sampler.

Performed and perfected beats played like an instrument.

The album came together as a reflection in the wake of travel restrictions. When I could no longer play with other musicians in person, I started playing with the music I had created with my samplers throughout the prior year. Through these songs, the spontaneous expression that I missed from live improvised music was possible again.
