Agoteak Euskal Herriko zazpi musikarik osatzen duten proiektu kultural eta artistikoa da, roots reggaean oinarritua. Taldeko kideak Iker "Beñaranks" Beñaran, Lander "Ilarbass" Ilarraz, Ivan "MoreiReggae" Moreira, Aitor "Dubrktor" Etxeberria, Jorge "Iortx" Ortega, Iker "Selektah" Gaskon eta Unai Fontan dira. Hainbat urtez itzalean lan egin ondoren eta zuzeneko pare bat eginda, beraien lehenengo albumaren aurrerapen single hau dakarkite, Roberto "Lone Ark" Sánchez Kantauriko dub maisuak nahastuak.

Agoteak Baztan bailaran egurra eta harria maisuki lantzen zituen etnia arrazializatu eta zigortu bat izan zen, eta haien omenez izendatu zuten banda, mundu osoko zapalduei keinu gisa. Agoteak taldearen bereizgarria da 70 eta 80ko hamarkadako roots reggaea eredu hartuta egiten duten haren berrinterpretazioa, baita sentimenduez, gizarte honetako gaitzez eta hura aldatzeko mezuez diharduten euskarazko hitzak ere.

Agoteak is a cultural and artistic project consisting of seven musicians from the Basque Country, based on roots reggae. The band members are Iker "Beñaranks" Beñaran, Lander "Ilarbass" Ilarraz, Ivan "MoreiReggae" Moreira, Aitor "Dubrktor" Etxeberria, Jorge "Iortx" Ortega, Iker "Selektah" Gaskon and Unai Fontan. After several years of working in the shadows and a couple of live performances, they bring this "showcase" style album: 4 songs of their own and their 4 dub versions, mixed by the "dub" master from the Cantabrian, Roberto "Lone Ark" Sánchez.

The "agotes" were a racialized and punished ethnicity that masterfully cultivated wood and stone in the Baztan Valley, and the band was named in their honor as a gesture to oppressed people around the world. The group Agoteak is characterized by their reinterpretation of the roots reggae from the 70’s and 80’s, as well as the Basque words that speak about feelings, the evils of this society and the will to change it.

Agoteak es es un proyecto cultural y artístico de siete músicos de Euskal Herria basado en el roots reggae. El equipo está formado por Iker "Beñaranks" Beñaran, Lander "Ilarbass" Ilarraz, Ivan "MoreiReggae" Moreira, Aitor "Dubrktor" Etxeberria, Jorge "Iortx" Ortega, Iker "Selektah" Gaskon y Unai Fontan. Tras varios años de trabajo en la sombra y un par de actuaciones en directo, presentan este single adelanto de su primer álbum, mezclada por el maestro del dub del Cantábrico, Roberto "Lone Ark" Sánchez.

Los agotes fueron una etnia racializada y castigada del valle del Baztan que trabajaban con maestría la madera y la piedra, y en su honor nombraron a la banda como guiño a los oprimidos de todo el mundo. Agoteak destacan por su reinterpretación del roots reggae de los años 70 y 80, así como por sus letras en euskera que hablan de los sentimientos, las enfermedades de esta sociedad y la voluntad de cambiarla.

Agoteak Euskal Herriko proiektu bat da, Jamaikako roots reggae musika oinarri duena. Taldearen abestiak gizarte globalizatuko gaitzak sendatzeko grinaz sortzen dira, munduko kultura gutxituekin bat eginez.
'Agote' izenak Baztan bailarako giza kolektibo historikoki marginatuari egiten dio erreferentzia, egurra eta harria maisuki lantzearekin bat, musika sorkuntzan ere tradizio luzea duena.
